Spring kicks off wedding season. Between April and September, most couples in Italy, and many in other European countries and beyond, choose to get married. So travel agencies are full of honeymoon deals. And of course, a magical country like Morocco had to be one of the most sought-after destinations for a honeymoon in Morocco.
And, of course, I had to share my tips on how to book and plan an affordable honeymoon on one of my tours.
Planning a honeymoon? Choose Morocco
With its colors, flavors, scents and exotic sounds, a honeymoon in Morocco has nothing to envy the overused romantic destinations like Paris, Venice or Madrid. The atmosphere in Morocco is straight out of One Thousand and One Nights, thanks to its enveloping fragrances, its magical, mysterious settings and its enchanting places to visit.
With my tips as a destination expert, together we can build your dream honeymoon, whatever month you choose to travel, with itineraries that will make you fall in love (even more so with your new spouse) with a truly romantic, unforgettable land.
Choosing Morocco for your honeymoon is the right choice if you want to spend your first days as newlyweds in a country with so much to discover in terms of history, culture and multiculturalism, architecture, food, art and landscapes. Between sea and mountains, imperial cities and deserts, lakes and nature parks, relaxation and comfort are guaranteed.
If you’re a couple who loves nature, culture and fun, you’ll be delighted by a honeymoon in Morocco. A country that will welcome you like family, spark your curiosity and enchant you with its craft traditions and rich Moroccan culture. And one that will also save you plenty of money with an affordable honeymoon.
A honeymoon in Morocco: which couples is it right for?
The romantic Arabian Nights atmosphere makes Morocco a great destination for couples in general, including same-sex couples, not just newlyweds or those about to tie the knot. It will especially appeal to couples who expect to experience lots of new emotions on their honeymoon and discover new cultures rooted in the past, without giving up nightlife, relaxation and comfort.
Strolling past traditional riads and colorful souks fragrant with spices, visiting museums, historic palaces and mosques, every corner of Morocco’s most beautiful cities, and of the lesser-known ones too, will transport you into an exotic, unusual dimension you’ll love at first sight.
But even if you’re a couple who isn’t especially keen on art galleries and museums, you’ll have plenty to enjoy, relaxing in the famous Moroccan hammams, far more evocative and pleasant than the spas we’re used to. And after a few hours of relaxation, with essential-oil massages and steam baths, you’ll be recharged for adventures like trekking in the Atlas Mountains, visiting waterfalls and national parks, and exploring the imperial cities.
Of course, couples who want to combine relaxation and adventure will reach the high point of their Moroccan experience by sleeping in a tented camp in the Sahara Desert. Perhaps there’s no need to say more, so as not to spoil the wonder that awaits you.
In short, a honeymoon within easy reach (Morocco is just a few hours’ flight from Europe), ideal for couples with only a few days of vacation, and for those who want to stick to a budget without giving up the thrill of discovering new cultures and culinary traditions, while living an experience as unforgettable as a honeymoon.

Affordable honeymoon ideas: yes, but without giving up luxury
At this point I should clarify that by an “affordable trip” I don’t mean you’ll have to give up this or that opportunity because it costs too much: I call it that in comparison with the other honeymoon offers out there. Even on a modest budget, your trip to Morocco will be truly luxurious, spread over 2 weeks, and will let you enjoy luxury experiences that combine elegance, comfort and authenticity.
Morocco has many very exclusive and evocative places, each of which will make you feel pampered like a sultan and his queen.
One of these experiences awaits in the most luxurious Moroccan hammams (Marrakech has plenty), offering tourists traditional treatments reimagined in a luxury key, for the most demanding and well-heeled couples. Performed with fragrant oils, the rejuvenating massages and beauty rituals you’ll enjoy, in sumptuous settings, will relax you like never before.
After a treatment like that, you can’t miss a private romantic dinner in one of the many exclusive locations: in a palm grove, on a terrace overlooking the Medina, or even in a desert oasis, you’ll be able to savor Moroccan cuisine.
After dinner, a night in a luxury riad, with inner courtyards full of fountains and rooftop terraces overlooking the medina, will round off your experience and lull you through the Moroccan night.
One of the most popular luxury honeymoon experiences is spending a night in the Sahara Desert in a deluxe glamping tent. In this igloo-shaped tented camp, you can enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars and watch sunrise and sunset through the beautiful glass wall, before waking up among the breathtaking dunes of the desert.
Why a honeymoon in Morocco is affordable
As you’ve read, booking a honeymoon in Morocco means you don’t have to give up any of the romance and charm, while also saving quite a bit. From Italy and much of Europe there are many cheap flights to Morocco, as the best-known low-cost airlines like Ryanair and easyJet fly these routes. Flights to and from Marrakech, Fez, Rabat or Agadir, especially if booked early, often come at very affordable fares.
As for meals, Morocco’s restaurants and souks offer great food at very affordable prices, so you can eat well while spending little. You’ll love the traditional dishes, and I’m sure you’ll want to make them for your friends as soon as you get home.
If you’re a couple who prefers intimacy and authenticity over over-the-top luxury, Morocco will be right up your alley, thanks to the many truly evocative and traditional experiences on offer.
Getting married in spring? Morocco is the country for you, where emotions meet luxury without weighing too heavily on your wallet.
